Quick link: Electronic fetal monitoring in the NYTimes

This NYTimes article from today’s Health Section nicely summarizes the new ACOG guidelines on electronic fetal monitoring. Even under the new recommendations, it looks like electronic fetal monitoring will still be overused and still lead to an overly medical approach to labor and birth, but at least it’s a step in the right direction, I suppose.
