The Birth Survey–a.k.a., rave about your midwife!

I just read on the Our Bodies Ourselves blog about The Birth Survey–maybe everyone else knew about this already, but somehow I didn’t, and I’m very excited.

The site has three main parts: If you had a baby in the past three years, you can review your care provider (click on “share” to do this). If you’re interested in hospital intervention rates, you can see what data your state makes available here (click on “learn,” but know that the data available varies really widely state-by-state because of different reporting laws). And, if you’re pregnant or trying to conceive, you can read about women’s experiences with different care providers (search by OB or by midwife) and birthing locations (search by hospital, birth centers, or homebirth services–click on “connect” to read and search other reviews).

Okay, I’m off to go rave about my midwife now!
