Mother’s Day gift ideas

Jewelry, a Mother’s Day gift classic, right? Sure, but here are some more original options.

  • For a new mom:

These nursing necklaces look pretty and give baby’s curious fingers–which often want to pluck at mom’s skin or shirt instead–something to explore. While not the same as the popular SmartMom teething necklaces (another option), they’re still sturdy enough for a baby to hold onto.

  • For a babywearing mom:

These gorgeous glass pendants in the stylized representations of a mom and baby in a sling come in many colors–the aqua/cobalt I linked to might be a personal favorite (hint, hint), but all are lovely. The artist also makes family pendants and birth-partner pendants too.

  • For a mom nursing a toddler:

Since she may not be sure when her nursing relationship will end, these breastmilk pendants–made from a few drops of her own milk, formed into a bead and suspended in resin–may be extra precious to her.
