Looking back: pregnancy, newborn period, etc.

September 2007: Trying to conceive. There’s a thermometer under my pillow and pregnancy tests in the bathroom.

January 2008: Newly pregnant and morning-sick. There’s a candy cane by my bed and tangerines and crackers at my desk.

June 2008: Still pregnant. There’s a Hypnobirthing track on my iPod under my pillow and a lower-back-support pillow at my workstation.

September 2008: Home with a newborn! There are water bottles and burp cloths scattered all over the house for anywhere, anytime nursing (and spit-up).

January 2009: Back to work after maternity leave. There are piles of laundry and dirty dishes everywhere.

May 2009: Home for the summer with crawling, pulling-up baby. There are pillows at the foot of the couch and a bedrail on our bed.

January 2010: Realizing our baby’s growing up fast. There’s a twin bed in his room and a train table in the living room.

August 2010: Home for the summer with walking, talking, opinionated two-year-old. There’s sand everywhere, brought in from the playgrounds, and balls and cars behind the furniture.

Today: Nostalgic. (Can you tell?)

Yes, I can tell! I have been there too! My daughter turned three two weeks ago. Getting a serious case of baby fever, but uncertain other times. Hope you are enjoying the day with your little one today!
